Do Something Special For Your Community With Radio Warneford

Do you have a few hours to spare one evening a week or during the day on Saturday or Sunday? Do you fancy spending a little of your free time doing something quite unique for your community? Have you ever thought about becoming a Radio Warneford volunteer?

The station, which has been broadcasting to patients in South Warwickshire since 1973, is looking for people to join one of their broadcasting teams. Volunteers will collect requests from patients on the wards, help put programmes together, raise funds to keep the station operating and of course be fully trained up to broadcast live on air!

Station Manager, Ley Bricknell, says "Radio Warneford is a really rewarding way to spend some of your free time. All you need to get started is a couple of hours each week and loads of enthusiasm!"

Radio Warneford currently has vacancies in the following teams:

  • Monday evening
  • Tuesday evening
  • Thursday evening
  • Friday evening
  • Saturday daytime
  • Sunday morning

You don't need any particular qualifications to join us. If you like meeting new people, can work effectively as part of a team, like music, have bags of enthusiasm and a sense of fun, you are just the sort of person we are looking for! You'll need to be able to attend our studios in Warwick on the same day or evening each week. Don't worry if you have no experience of broadcasting, we provide a complete training programme. You must be at least 18 years of age but there is definitely no upper age limit!

Ley Bricknell adds "Volunteering for just a couple of hours a week at Radio Warneford can give you an enormous sense of satisfaction. It also gives you the chance to meet people from all walks of life and an opportunity to learn all about radio broadcasting. And you'll be making a positive contribution to your community."
