Sainsbury's Staff Raise £300 For Radio Warneford
Staff at the Sainsbury's store in Leamington Spa have raised money for Radio Warneford, the hospital radio service for South Warwickshire.
The Sainsbury's staff have so far raised £1,500 for local charities. On Friday 7th August, Lucy Vernon and Berkeley Bugg, both from Sainsbury's Colleague Council, visited the Radio Warneford studio complex at Warwick Hospital to present the station with a cheque for £300.
Some of the money will be used to purchase a superb digital camera, one of the top prizes in Radio Warneford's 2009 Grand Raffle Draw taking place at Warwick Market on Saturday 5th September and the most important fund raising event of the year for the station. The rest will be used to continue the service that Radio Warneford provides to patients and staff at Warwick Hospital.
Sara Lister, Radio Warneford Chairman, says "I am thrilled that we have received so much support from Sainsbury's. It means a lot to us that we have been chosen to be one of the local charities to benefit and I'd like to thank all of the Sainsbury's staff for their hard work raising money for the local community."
