Date: 25 March 2007 The Easter Eggstravaganza Radio Warneford, the hospital radio service for South Warwickshire, will be holding its first major fund raising event of 2007 this weekend. Our Easter Eggstravaganza will be taking place at the Royal Priors, Leamington Spa, on Saturday 31st March between 9.30am and 4.00pm. Visitors to the Royal Priors will have the chance to win Easter Eggs kindly donated by local organisations and Radio Warneford members, or one of 100 fluffy toys. Tickets cost just 25p or four for a £1. That's four chances to win a prize! The young (and young at heart) will also have the opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny! All proceeds from the Easter Eggstravaganza will be used to maintain and improve the radio service that Radio Warneford's volunteer members provide for patients and staff at Warwick Hospital and to upgrade the equipment at our studio complex. The Easter Eggstravaganza marks the start of Hospital Broadcasting Week, a national awareness week organised by the Hospital Broadcasting Association to promote the work of hospital radio stations across the UK. So if you want to know what we do or find out more about becoming one of our volunteer members, then come and meet us on Saturday. Sara Lister, Chairman of Radio Warneford, says "Holding our Easter Eggstravaganza at the start of Hospital Broadcasting Week is a great way to let people know exactly what we do and to promote the idea that maybe they could join us as a volunteer. We need new members to help with administration work as well as broadcasting programmes to patients. Note To Editors Hospital Broadcasting Week is a national event organised by the Hospital Broadcasting Association and runs from 31 March to 9 April 2007. The HBA represents over 250 stations across the UK and many of them are planning special events to promote the work of hospital radio.
