Welcome to Radio Warneford, the award-winning hospital broadcasting service based at Warwick Hospital in the heart of Warwickshire, providing quality radio entertainment to both patients and staff since 1973. Thank-you for visiting our web site - we hope you find it interesting.
We've been broadcasting to patients for 37 years and we need people over 18 to volunteer to help us as part of one of our weekday evening or weekend teams. Volunteers will get requests from patients on the wards, help put programmes together, raise funds to keep the station running and of course be fully trained up to broadcast live on air! However you must be able to commit to the same day or evening each week. We currently have vacancies on the following teams:-
Please note that training for the Friday and Saturday teams will take place on a weekday evening.
To find out more about what's involved in being a member of Radio Warneford, what we expect and to download an application form to fill in, please see our Getting Involved section. Read our news release If you are 18 and over and would like to turn a few hours of your spare time into something special for your community, please get in touch with us and help us to make a difference.

Graeme Meanley MBE
Radio Warneford's Life President, Graeme Meanley MBE, has died at the age of 87. Graeme joined Radio Warneford in its early days and was very much instrumental over many years in raising the money needed for the development of the station from a couple of turntables in a basement broom cupboard at the Warneford Hospital in 1974 to its current modern, hi-tech studio complex at Warwick Hospital. If you don't already have a free personal Twitter account,
Radio Warneford has a special magazine for patients and the current edition is still available! It's packed with articles about Radio Warneford and some of the people who work here. Inside, you can read about the importance of hospital radio, what it's like to be a member of Radio Warneford, which are the Top Ten most requested records and just what is the Hospital Broadcasting Association. Our Meet The Team feature introduces you to some of our members, including the Secretary and Librarian. There are even a few quizzes to tax your brain! Patients can get hold of a free copy of our magazine by asking one of our Ward Visitors or calling us from their bedside unit for free on extension 4500.
Radio Warneford's PodRamble sees Station Manager Ley Bricknell taking her trusty iPod and a special guest out for a ramble and they talk about what they can see.
