Our opening show was hosted by BBC Coventry & Warwickshire's Annie Othen, a past member of Radio Warneford, and she shared hilarious memories of her time with the station. Ten minutes into our Marathon we had our first phone call from the wards and the phones jingled off the hook throughout the 35 hours. We presented over 60 mugs to patients and staff who had their favourite tracks played.

Radio Warneford's very own Captain Jude     Radio Warneford had an instant request on air within 7 minutes

Our competitions were also a big hit with patients winning meals for two at Zizzi's & Petit Gourmand through guessing Name That Name, a famous voice competition. Kenilworth Mayor, Councillor Spencer Harrison and Warwick Mayor, Councillor Ann Mellor, were our guests during our Request Shows.

All our presenters worked really hard interviewing local Lions Clubs and other donors, our Life President and members of the Royal Shakespeare Company to produce lots of features which were played throughout the Marathon.

In the next couple of years we should reach our goal - to offer our hospital radio service 24 hours a day, every day of the week."

Radio Warneford received more than £1000 of sponsorship, donations and prizes for the marathon broadcast. We would like to thank everyone for their fantastic support. All links open in a new window.
