Radio Warneford received this picture from a former MacGregor Ward patient along with the following message from his mum!

Harry Oldridge was in hospital between 9th and 11th May. He enjoyed having a request played on the radio and wanted to draw a picture of him listening to it! So, here is Harry's picture of himself in his hospital bed, listening to the radio with headphones. Thanks for cheering up a little boy with a broken arm!

Radio Warneford Remembers Matt Monro
Easter Weekend 2010

Radio Warneford's 2010 Easter schedule included a very special programme celebrating the life of British star Matt Monro. It marked the 25th anniversary of his death and the 50th anniversary of his first hit record, Portrait Of My Love.

Matt Monro

As well as remembering some of Matt Monro's greatest hits, presenters Louise Drinkhall and Paul Kalus went to meet Matt's daughter Michele who had just published a new book entitled The Singer's Singer: The Life And Music Of Matt Monro. Michele told us all about her dad and his music and chose some rare recordings for us to enjoy.

Portrait Of My Love was broadcast on Good Friday and Easter Monday.
