Does your department or ward have a special Do you work with a support group or organisation Do you have information that you need If you do, how do you let people know about it?
Radio Warneford provides an award-winning radio service to patients and staff at Warwick Hospital. As part of that service, each weekday evening between 7pm and 8pm, we broadcast a special feature called Patient Information. Launched in January 1995, Patient Information aims to provide patients with useful and timely information about the services available to them while they are in hospital. It also covers fundraising events and external services connected to patient care - in fact almost anything! Over the last few years, Patient Information has included items on hospital services like the hairdresser and newsagent, health issues, services in the hospital chapel, Red Cross activities, local bus services, the Occupational Therapy department and League Of Friends activities and fundraising events amongst others. Did you know that 64%* of
patients If you would like us to record a feature on your department or organisation, highlighting the services and benefits for patients, please let us know - it’s as easy as picking up the phone. Once we have all the details, our experienced Production Managers will put together a suitable package for broadcasting. The type and style of any package will very much depend on the service or event itself. We can produce short promotional trailers or extended features of between two and ten minutes in length. You or your staff can come to the studio to be interviewed for the package, you can send us a script which we can record, or you can just send us the relevant information and let us do the rest. The information you give us can also be included in a new Patient Information section on our web site. Whichever method you choose, we will send you a tape of your Patient Information package, along with any information for inclusion on the web site, prior to transmission/uploading for your approval. Please make sure that any information included in your package remains up-to-date. Just inform us in good time of any changes that are necessary. If your Patient Information package is about a particular event, please try and give us as much notice as you can. As a rough guide, short items and trailers can usually be produced in a couple of weeks - extended items and interviews will take longer. The next time you need to get information to patients at Warwick Hospital, get in touch with us first. Patient Information is there to work for you - and it’s free! If you would like to have your department, service or organisation featured on Patient Information, or you would like to find out more, please get in touch.
